Chef Sat Bains’ Guinness World Record attempt to cook for the highest formal dinner in history failed when he developed hape (high altitude pulmonary edema), a life-threatening illness. While in Kathmandu he was caught up in the Nepal earthquake, which is now expected to have claimed up to 10,000 lives.
Right now, a British expedition is setting out to climb Mount Everest by the North Ridge. En-route to the top, they will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Highest formal black tie Dinner Party at 7,100 metres above sea level.
They're trying to raise £100,000 for charity. In support of the expedition we're going to donate £10 from the proceeds of each of Sat's books we sell before the end of May, and we've reduced the price of the book by £10 to thank you for your support.
